The most difficult process of creating a google news account is picking feeds that will keep you intrigued as a reader. When choosing the feeds on my google reader I wanted to choose feeds that would not create a bias opinion, allowing me to come to conclusion on my own. Another important aspect was to make sure I had a variety of opinions ranging in both age and gender.
When choosing a major news source I read several articles by various news sources and choose The New York Times. I believe they created the least bias opinion and reported the most truthful and accurate information.
When choosing my search query through Google News I choose to search information on Middle Eastern News as apposed to just the Iraq War. This allows my information to be more broad ranging on a variety of different topics and not just the Iraq War.
While choosing the milblog and military podcast I didn’t want factual information out of these two sources that is the job of the news source and search query. Instead I wanted to make sure that I would be able to accurately draw information of the emotions of a soldier. Another thing I kept in mind was that I wanted emotions from both genders.
These are major reasons that I choose these feeds for google reader.
